No, Laundry Pump is not required. It is the quickest way to dose Sensitive Laundry Liquid because each full press delivers exactly 4 ml, so there is no measuring or pouring. If you would rather measure by hand, Laundry Dosing Cup is a silicone cup with marked lines at 24 ml and 40 ml on the inside. It is heat-proof, safe if it ends up in the dryer, and can go through the wash to clean itself. Either tool gives you the accuracy that a concentrated detergent needs, so pick whichever suits how you like to dose.

Sensitive Laundry Liquid is concentrated, so a small amount cleans a full load. Pouring by eye tends to overshoot. Too much detergent can leave residue on clothes and make rinsing less effective, which is worth avoiding on sensitive skin. Too little and clothes do not come out properly clean. Either Laundry Pump or Laundry Dosing Cup gives you the accuracy to hit the right dose every load. For a heavy mark, pre-treat the spot with Stain Remover rather than raising the dose for the whole load.

Each full press is 4 ml. A small or lightly soiled load takes 4 presses, which is 16 ml. A normal load takes 6 presses, which is 24 ml. A large or heavily soiled load takes 10 presses, which is 40 ml. Dose to the size of the load rather than the maximum capacity of your machine, because a half-full 10 kg drum is still a normal load.
