Does Bathroom & Shower Cleaner have a fragrance?Updated 11 days ago

TL;DR: No, and that is deliberate. Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is fragrance-free: no perfumes, no masking scents, no synthetic fragrance ingredients. That is part of what makes it a clean choice for asthma, allergies and fragrance-sensitive noses. If you would like a light scent, add two or three drops of a mild essential oil to your Foaming Spray Bottle after mixing. Never citrus oils, they damage the foamer mechanism.

Does Bathroom & Shower Cleaner have a fragrance?

No. Bathroom and Shower Cleaner contains no added perfumes, no masking scents and no synthetic fragrance ingredients. The absence of fragrance is part of what makes it Sensitive Choice approved by the National Asthma Council Australia. You may notice a very mild, clean scent from the ingredients themselves, ethanol for example, but nothing perfumed. It rinses away with water and leaves no lingering smell behind.

Can I add a scent myself?

Yes. Add two to three drops of a mild essential oil, such as eucalyptus or lavender, to your Foaming Spray Bottle after you have mixed the foam, then swirl gently to combine. Keep it minimal, because two to three drops is enough for a subtle scent without affecting the formula or the foamer mechanism. More than that risks clogging the nozzle or leaving oily residue on surfaces. If anyone in your home is scent-sensitive, skip this step entirely. Never use citrus oils, which damage the foamer mechanism over time.

✓ How to add a light scent

1

Fill the foamer. Mix Bathroom & Shower Cleaner in your Foaming Spray Bottle as normal.

2

Add two to three drops of essential oil. Eucalyptus or lavender are safe choices. Do not go over three drops per fill.

3

Swirl gently. Combine without shaking hard, which creates pre-foam and can block the nozzle.

⚠ Skip it if anyone is scent-sensitive

If anyone in your home is scent-sensitive, or is managing asthma or a fragrance allergy, leave the product as it comes. Fragrance-free is the default for a reason, and adding an essential oil puts a scent back into a product that deliberately does not have one.

Optional, not recommended for all Max three drops

Why can't I use citrus oils?

Citrus oils, meaning lemon, orange, bergamot, lime and grapefruit, contain d-limonene and other terpene solvents that swell and degrade the plastic and rubber seals inside the Foaming Spray Bottle mechanism. Over time that causes sluggish spray, sticking triggers, leaking seals and eventually mechanical failure. Eucalyptus and lavender are much gentler on the plastics. If you want a citrus scent in the bathroom, use it in a diffuser instead of in the foamer.

Eucalyptus Oil · if you want a light scent

Two to three drops per foamer fill is plenty. Gentle on the foamer seals, unlike citrus oils. Skip it entirely if anyone at home is scent-sensitive.
