How do I open Laundry Pump?Updated 5 hours ago
TL;DR: Laundry Pump ships locked so it cannot leak in transit. Hold the white reservoir, then twist the pump head anti-clockwise while turning the reservoir clockwise. The head will rise. Press it down 4 to 6 times to prime, then every press dispenses 4 ml.
How do I open Laundry Pump?
✓ Three steps
Hold the reservoir. Grip the white plastic reservoir firmly with one hand.
Twist opposite ways. Turn the pump head anti-clockwise while turning the white reservoir clockwise. The head will rise.
Spinning endlessly? Tug up. Keep twisting and give the head a small upward tug to break the factory air seal.
✓ What you are unlocking
The head is a twist-and-screw lock, so it needs a turn rather than a pull. Twisting the whole bottle instead of the head is the most common reason it feels stuck.
How do I prime Laundry Pump for first use?
✓ Prime in 4 to 6 presses
The first few presses will be dry while the dispenser draws Sensitive Laundry Liquid up the internal tube. Liquid usually flows within 4 to 6 presses.
✓ Presses per load
Each full press is 4 ml, so 6 presses covers a normal load and 10 covers a large or heavily soiled one. The mechanism is rated for around 3,000 presses.
What if it still will not open or dispense?
⚠ Do not lever it open
Use a firmer upward pull while twisting anti-clockwise, and check you are twisting the head rather than the whole bottle or lid. Do not prise the head with a tool. The actuator holds an internal metal spring that a lever can damage.
✓ Open but not dispensing
It is almost always priming rather than a fault, so keep pressing. If nothing comes through after 10 or so presses, get in touch and we will sort it out.
