How do I use Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner?Updated 7 hours ago

TL;DR: Spray Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner directly onto the greasy surface (or use a Foaming Spray Bottle for thick clinging foam on vertical surfaces). Let it sit 5 to 15 minutes depending on how heavy the buildup is. Scrub with a damp Swedish Dishcloth or Dish Sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water (or sponge-rinse for surfaces without a drain). For everyday non-greasy cleaning, Universal Cleaner is the all-rounder.

How do I use Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner?

Spray Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner directly onto the greasy surface, or use a Foaming Spray Bottle for thick clinging foam on vertical surfaces. Let it sit 5 to 15 minutes depending on how heavy the buildup is (3-5 minutes for general kitchen surfaces, 5 minutes for stovetops, 5-10 minutes for BBQs and rangehoods, 10-15 minutes for ovens with tough grease). Scrub with a damp Swedish Dishcloth, Dish Sponge, or Scrubby Pad. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. For surfaces without a drain (ovens, rangehoods, microwaves), sponge-rinse with a clean damp cloth until all product residue is removed. Always rinse before food contact because Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner is not food-grade itself.

✓ Spray, wait, scrub, rinse

1

Spray. Apply Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner directly onto the surface. For vertical surfaces (rangehoods, splashbacks, oven walls), a Foaming Spray Bottle turns it into thick foam that clings rather than drips.

2

Wait. Let it sit for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the surface and how heavy the buildup is. See soak-time guide below.

3

Scrub. Scrub with a damp Swedish Dishcloth, Dish Sponge, or Scrubby Pad. Match the scrubber to the surface, soft side for plastic and ceramic-glass, scrubby side for enamel and metal.

4

Rinse. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. For surfaces without a drain, sponge-rinse with a clean damp cloth until all product residue is removed. Always rinse before food contact.

✓ Recommended tools

A Foaming Spray Bottle for foam application. Swedish Dishcloths or Dish Sponges for everyday cleaning. Scrubby Pads are two-sided, soft side safe on coated surfaces, scrubby side for tougher metal and enamel.

How long should I let it sit?

Soak time depends on the surface and how heavy the grease buildup is. For general kitchen surfaces and benchtops, 3 to 5 minutes. For stovetops, 5 minutes. For BBQs and rangehoods (which usually have heavier buildup), 5 to 10 minutes. For ovens with tough baked-on grease, 10 to 15 minutes. For very heavy or long-neglected buildup, longer is fine, just keep the surface wet by spraying again if it starts to dry out. Don't let the product fully dry on the surface, that makes it harder to wipe off and can leave residue. If something isn't shifting after 15 minutes, soak the item in warm water with the cleaner for 30 minutes (works well for oven racks, BBQ grates, and roasting tins).

✓ 3 to 5 minutes

General kitchen surfaces, splashbacks, benchtops, light grease.

✓ 5 minutes

Stovetops, hobs, daily greasy build-up.

✓ 5 to 10 minutes

BBQs, rangehoods, rangehood filters, extractor fans, heavier kitchen build-up.

✓ 10 to 15 minutes

Ovens with tough baked-on grease, oven racks and trays, oven door glass, heavily neglected surfaces.

What about extra tough messes?

For oven racks and trays, BBQ grates, roasting tins, and other heavily neglected surfaces, longer soak times work better than harder scrubbing. For very heavy buildup, soak the item in warm water with Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner for 30 minutes. Don't let the product fully dry on the surface mid-clean, spray again if it starts to dry. For tough metal and enamel surfaces, the scrubby side of a Scrubby Pad is fine. Diamond Sponges are aggressive abrasives and should only be used on bare metal surfaces, never on coated cookware, ceramic-glass hobs, or stainless steel, where they can leave fine scratches.
