Is Bathroom & Shower Cleaner anti-microbial or anti-mould?Updated 9 days ago
TL;DR: Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is powerful for removing soap scum, body oils and grime. We don’t test or claim anti-microbial or anti-mould “kill” performance. Regular cleaning physically removes microbes to healthy levels, and good ventilation keeps mould from returning.
What it does
- Breaks up soap scum, mineral films and bathroom grime so they rinse away.
- Helps lift light surface mildew/mould from hard, non-porous areas when you scrub and rinse.
- Is pH-neutral and designed for a foam-and-rinse clean on most bathroom finishes (patch test first).
What it doesn’t do
- No anti-microbial or biocidal claims (not a disinfectant).
- No “kills mould” claim. Stubborn mould can root in grout and silicone where removal or re-siliconing may be required.
How to clean visible mould safely
- Ventilate the room. Wear gloves (and a mask if you’re sensitive).
- Spray to foam on hard, non-porous surfaces (tiles, glass, enamel). Let it sit 1–2 minutes.
- Scrub with a soft brush or cloth, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
Prevent mould coming back
- Use Bathroom Squeegee glass and tiles after each shower; dry seals and ledges.
- Run the exhaust fan (or open a window) during showering and for ~20 minutes after.
- Keep the shower tidy so air can flow; wash cloths and mats regularly.
- Fix leaks and seal issues promptly; consider re-grouting or re-siliconing if mould is embedded.
