Is it only for use in the bathroom and shower or can I use it elsewhere?Updated 3 days ago

TL;DR: Yes. Bathroom & Shower Cleaner is designed for bathrooms, tiles, glass, chrome and grout, but it also works on most sealed, non-porous surfaces that can take a foam-and-rinse clean. Good candidates: glass and windows, outdoor furniture, bins, outdoor tiles and paths, bikes, sports gear and non-porous toys. Always spot test first and rinse thoroughly. It is not food-grade, so skip food-prep surfaces and anything a child puts in their mouth.

Is it only for use in the bathroom and shower, or can I use it elsewhere?

Bathroom and Shower Cleaner is good on glass and windows, outdoor furniture in plastic, powder-coated metal or glass, outdoor tiles and paths, and bins. The foam clings, lifts dirt and rinses clean with water. For windows, a quick spray, wipe and buff with a clean microfibre leaves a streak-free finish. For bins, a deep foam-and-rinse cuts grime and neutralises odour inside and out. Sealed surfaces only, and always rinse thoroughly.

✓ Good around the house

Glass and windows, outdoor furniture, outdoor tiles, paths and bins. Plastic and powder-coated metal respond well. For windows, spray, wipe, then buff with a clean microfibre for a streak-free finish. For bins, a foam-and-rinse cuts grime and neutralises odour. Sealed surfaces only, and rinse thoroughly.

Can I use it on bikes, sports gear and toys?

Yes, with care. Bathroom and Shower Cleaner degunks bike and scooter frames, wheels, helmets, guards, sports mats and non-porous plastic toys. Keep it away from brake pads and rotors, because contamination affects braking performance. Only use it on non-porous toys in hard plastic, not soft fabric or plush. For anything that goes in a mouth or near food, such as teethers, bottle teats and dummies, use a food-safe cleaner instead. Always rinse thoroughly and air dry.

✓ Gear and toys

Bikes and scooters, avoiding brake pads and rotors. Sports gear, helmets, guards and mats. Non-porous plastic toys. Skip soft fabric, plush, and anything that goes in a mouth such as teethers, bottle teats and dummies. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.

What should I avoid?

Skip food-prep surfaces, because Bathroom and Shower Cleaner is not food-grade. Skip unfinished or raw wood. Skip unsealed natural stone such as marble, travertine and limestone. Skip unlacquered brass and copper, which are reactive to alkaline cleaners. Skip bike brake pads and rotors. Skip soft fabric and plush toys, and anything a baby or child puts in their mouth. For kitchens and food surfaces, use Universal Cleaner or Kitchen Grease and Oil Cleaner instead.

⚠ Surfaces to skip

Unlacquered brass or copper, which react to alkaline cleaners. Bike brake pads and rotors. Soft fabric, plush, and anything a baby puts in their mouth. For kitchens, use Universal Cleaner or Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner instead.

How should I use it on non-bathroom surfaces?

Same method as in the bathroom. Spot test on a small hidden area first, especially on anything unfamiliar or older. Spray Bathroom and Shower Cleaner evenly across the surface and let the foam sit for a few minutes to break down grime. Agitate with a sponge or cloth if needed. Rinse thoroughly with water, then air dry or wipe with a microfibre. For dirtier surfaces, leave the foam on longer, up to ten minutes.

✓ Foam, wait, agitate, rinse

1

Spot test first. A small hidden area. Wait a few minutes and check for any colour change or softening before going wider.

2

Spray and wait. Let the foam cling and work. A few minutes for light grime, longer for heavy build-up.

3

Agitate if needed. A sponge or cloth for stuck-on soil, non-scratch pads for tougher jobs.

4

Rinse thoroughly. A water rinse to remove foam and loosened grime. Air dry or wipe with a microfibre.
