Bathroom and Shower Cleaner contains twelve ingredients, listed here in INCI order. Aqua, deionised water, is the solvent base that carries the other ingredients and rinses cleanly off surfaces. Ethanol is a solvent that cuts oils and helps the foam spread evenly. Sodium lauryl sulfate is a low-foam wetting surfactant. Cocamidopropyl betaine is a mild surfactant. Sodium xylene sulfonate is a hydrotrope that keeps the formula stable and evenly mixed. Sodium metasilicate pentahydrate is a builder that helps with grease. Trisodium dicarboxymethyl alaninate is a chelator that grips hard-water minerals. Polyacrylic acid sodium salt is an anti-redeposition agent that stops lifted soil settling back on the surface. Xanthan gum is the thickener. Phenoxyethanol is the preservative. Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fats and body oils. Tocopheryl acetate is vitamin E, included as an antioxidant and a skin-friendly ingredient.

Bathroom and Shower Cleaner is formulated without the harsh chemicals found in conventional bathroom cleaners. There is no chlorine bleach, no added or synthetic fragrance, no phosphates, no quaternary ammonium disinfectants, no benzalkonium chloride, no parabens and no synthetic dyes. The formula is also low in sodium, so it does not harm the beneficial microbes in septic and greywater systems, and it is made from readily biodegradable ingredients. It is Sensitive Choice approved, Dermatest tested and recognised by the Eczema Association of Australasia.

Bathroom and Shower Cleaner is formulated at a pH of around 8, which is mildly alkaline, just above neutral pH 7. That is deliberately gentle compared with traditional bathroom cleaners, which are often either strongly acidic, such as vinegar-based descalers at pH 2 to 3, or strongly alkaline, such as ammonia-based products at pH 11 to 13. The mild pH is gentle enough for the product to be Dermatest tested and Eczema Association recognised, while still handling soap scum, body oils and mineral deposits. Shelf life is approximately 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored sealed, cool and out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze it or expose it to heat. It is made in Australia.
