Which surfaces can I use Swedish Dishcloths on?

Swedish Dishcloths are safe on most household hard surfaces: stainless steel, glass and mirrors, ceramic tile, porcelain sinks, sealed stone and laminate worktops, sealed timber, appliance exteriors and microwave interiors. The soft cellulose and cotton fibres wipe without scratching delicate finishes. Pair with Universal Cleaner on sealed surfaces, or use the cloth damp with plain water on glass and mirrors for a streak-free finish.

Safe on

1

Stainless steel. Non-abrasive fibres will not scratch. Rinse residue off afterwards.

2

Glass and mirrors. Streak-free damp with plain water or a glass cleaner.

3

Ceramic and porcelain. Ideal for sinks and tile. Will not etch glazes.

Also safe on

1

Sealed stone and laminate worktops. Use a mild detergent and skip harsh scouring.

2

Sealed timber. Wring the cloth well so it is damp, not wet.

3

Appliance exteriors and microwave interiors. Soft enough for glass and painted panels.

Which surfaces should I be careful with?

Take care with painted cabinets, freshly painted walls, unsealed stone and unsealed timber. Wring the cloth out well so it is only slightly damp, then spot-test in an inconspicuous area first. The cloth itself is non-abrasive, so the risk comes from water soaking into an unsealed surface or reacting with fresh paint, and from whichever cleaner you pair it with rather than from the cloth. Always follow the guidance on the cleaner you are using.

⚠ Spot-test these first

Painted cabinets, freshly painted walls, unsealed stone and unsealed timber. Wring the cloth until it is barely damp, then try an inconspicuous area before doing the whole surface.

⚠ The cleaner matters more than the cloth

Swedish Dishcloths are non-abrasive, so what limits where you can use one is usually the product you pair it with. Check that cleaner’s own surface guidance before you start.

Which cleaner should I pair with each surface?

Pair Swedish Dishcloths with Dishwashing Liquid for dishes, glassware and greasy cookware. For baked-on grease on hobs, splashbacks and worktops, switch to Kitchen Grease and Oil Cleaner. For sealed hard surfaces around the rest of the home, Universal Cleaner gives a streak-free finish. On glass and mirrors, a damp cloth with plain water is often all you need.

Dishwashing Liquid

Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner

Tough kitchen messes. Hobs, splashbacks, extractor hoods and baked-on worktop residue.

Universal Cleaner
