Why isn't Foaming Spray Bottle working?Updated 3 days ago

TL;DR: Check the refill first. The most common cause by far is a formula that is not designed to foam. If the fill is right, twist off the head, soak it in warm water for a few minutes and pump the trigger twelve or more times to flush the nozzle.

Why has my Foaming Spray Bottle stopped foaming?

There are three usual causes. The most common is the wrong refill: only Bathroom & Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner and Stain Remover are designed to foam. The second is a blocked nozzle from residue build-up, which a warm water soak and flush clears. The third is how the bottle is being held, because the foamer needs to stay upright and extreme tilting interrupts the pump.

Only Bathroom & Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner and Stain Remover are designed to foam. Anything else will dribble, jet, or give no output.

How do I clear the nozzle?

Twist the head off the bottle and check the internal tube is still attached. Soak the head in warm water for a few minutes, then submerge it and pump the trigger twelve or more times so clean water runs right through the nozzle path. Reassemble, prime with two or three pulls, and test with a compatible refill. Repeat the soak once if it is still blocked.

Watery or thin foam usually means the bottle is not filled with a foaming formula, or the pump has not built enough pressure; pump the trigger several times to build it up. Leaks and drips usually mean the bottle has been overfilled or the pump is not tightened properly, so check the fill line and retighten the head.

What if none of that works?
