Can I use Universal Cleaner in a robot vacuum or mop?Updated 3 days ago

TL;DR: We haven't tested Universal Cleaner with robot vacuums or robot mops, and we don't recommend adding it to tanks, lines, or internal parts. Most device makers specify water only. There are too many brands, models, and material combinations for us to confirm compatibility, and using an untested solution could affect seals, internal components, or your machine's warranty. For floors, the Spray Mop is the tested pairing.

Can I use Universal Cleaner in a robot vacuum or mop?

We don't recommend it. Koh Universal Cleaner hasn't been tested with robot mops or vacuums from Roborock, Dreame, iRobot Roomba, Ecovacs, Eufy, Narwal, or any other brand, and we don't advise adding it to tanks, lines, or internal parts. These machines vary significantly in internal tubing materials, tank construction, seal compounds, mop pad materials, and sensor coatings, so without brand-by-brand testing we can't confirm compatibility or performance. Most robot mop manufacturers specify plain water or their own branded cleaning solution in the tank for exactly this reason, and using a third-party solution may affect your warranty. We also don't provide dilution guidance for Universal Cleaner in these machines.

Tanks, seals, internal tubing, pumps, mop pads, and sensors vary widely across robot mop brands, and alkaline cleaners can react with certain plastics, rubbers, and coatings. Without brand-specific testing we can't confirm which machines are safe, so please don't add Universal Cleaner to any internal reservoir. Most manufacturers specify water or their own branded solution. Check your manual first.

What if I choose to experiment anyway?

If you decide to try it anyway, that's your call and it's at your own risk. Start by reading your robot mop's manual or manufacturer FAQ to confirm whether they permit third-party cleaning solutions at all. Many specify water only. If yours does permit them, start with a very small amount rather than a full tank, and spot test your floor with a short cycle on a hidden area first. Watch the machine closely during and after the cycle for tank residue, pump hesitation, reduced pad performance, unusual noises, streaking on the floor, or sensor errors. Stop immediately if you see any of these. Let us know how it goes, because honest feedback on specific brands and models helps us build better guidance.
