How to use: Dusting Mop PadUpdated 3 days ago
TL;DR: The Dusting Mop Pad is designed for dry use with the Spray Mop. Attach it to the mop head and glide it across the floor with no spray and no cleaner, to pick up hair, pet fur and loose dust before you wet mop. Remove it over a bin, shake it clean, and machine wash it cold when build-up is heavy.
How to use: Dusting Mop Pad
✓ Step by step
The Dusting Mop Pad is a dry tool. It comes before the wet clean, not instead of it.
1 Attach it to the Spray Mop. Press the pad onto the hook-and-loop mop head, aligned and secure.
2 Glide it dry across the floor. No spray, no cleaner. Long sweeping strokes, and the pad traps hair, pet fur and loose dust as you go.
3 Remove it over a bin. Hold the mop over a bin and detach the pad carefully, so the trapped dust does not fall back onto the floor.
4 Shake it out. Give the pad a good shake over the bin or outside to release the captured dust and debris.
5 Swap to a cleaning pad and wet mop. Switch to the green Deep Clean Mop Pads or the blue Everyday Mop Pads and mop with Universal Cleaner.
Why pre-dust before mopping?
✓ Pre-dusting protects your wet clean
Wet mopping over loose dust and hair drags debris around the floor and leaves streaks. Lifting that loose layer first means the wet clean is doing real work instead of pushing grime into the edges.
It also protects the floor. Grit that gets ground into a finish by a wet pad does more damage over time than the mopping itself.
Can I use the Dusting Mop Pad wet?
✓ Dry pre-mop step
Use it dry with the Spray Mop for pre-mop dust and hair pickup. No spray, no cleaner needed. If it ever feels dry and ineffective, a quick rinse under water and a shake reactivates the pickup.
⚠ For wet mopping, swap pads
Need to actually mop? Swap to the green Deep Clean Mop Pads for a heavier scrub or the blue Everyday Mop Pads for a lighter daily clean, with Universal Cleaner in the bottle.
How do I clean the Dusting Mop Pad?
✓ Between uses
Shake the pad out over a bin or outdoors to release most of the trapped dust and hair. That is enough for light sessions. Save the machine wash for genuinely soiled pads.
✓ For heavier build-up
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. No fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces the dust-trapping ability, and no bleach. Air-dry flat or hang in the shade, never tumble dry.
✓ Care rules for all three pads
The green Deep Clean and blue Everyday Mop Pads wash at 40°C or cooler; the Dusting Mop Pad washes cold. None of them go in the tumble dryer. Full detail in How do you wash the Mop Pads?.
