What surfaces can I use Universal Cleaner on?Updated 3 hours ago
TL;DR: Universal Cleaner is a no-rinse multipurpose cleaner for 20+ surfaces around the home: kitchens, bathrooms, glass and mirrors, tiles and grout, floors, chrome fittings (with care), and soft furnishings (spot test first). Used undiluted. Not suitable for soft metals (zinc, copper, brass), raw aluminium, aftermarket window tints, or glass with factory-applied or aftermarket easy-clean coatings (such as ShowerGuard, Diamon-Fusion, ClearShield, EnduroShield, or similar hydrophobic glass treatments). Always spot test on unknown surfaces.
What surfaces can I use Universal Cleaner on?
✓ Kitchen
Worktops, splashbacks, ovens, hobs (including induction hobs), extractor hoods, sinks, cabinet faces, and the inside of the fridge.
✓ Bathroom
Tiles, grout, showers, baths, basins, taps, vanity tops, mirrors, and toilet exteriors. Cuts through soap scum and limescale build-up.
✓ Glass and mirrors
Windows, mirrors, shower screens, glass tabletops, and polished surfaces. Streak-free finish with a microfibre cloth.
✓ Floors
Hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, sealed stone, and most sealed floor surfaces. Pair with Spray Mop for a no-bucket mop.
✓ Chrome fittings (with care)
Taps, showerheads, and chrome hardware are fine with a light touch. Spray lightly (don't soak), wipe with a soft microfibre cloth, rinse or wipe again with clean water if needed, then dry to avoid water spots. Don't let it dwell on the surface, skip abrasive pads, and avoid damaged or peeling chrome.
✓ Soft furnishings (spot test)
Carpets, rugs, upholstery, and leather for spot-cleaning. Always spot test in an inconspicuous area first. Avoid wool and untreated natural fibres.
What surfaces should I avoid using Universal Cleaner on?
⚠ Not suitable for
Universal Cleaner is alkaline (pH 12.5). Soft metals (zinc, copper, brass) can discolour or tarnish. Raw aluminium can oxidise or pit. Aftermarket window tints and films can peel or cloud. Glass with easy-clean coatings (ShowerGuard, Diamon-Fusion, ClearShield, EnduroShield, or similar) can break down. These materials react with alkaline cleaners generally, not just Koh.
How do I spot test Universal Cleaner on a surface?
✓ Quick spot test
Pick a hidden spot. Back of a cabinet, underside of a chair, hem of upholstery, or a corner that won't show.
Apply a small amount of undiluted Universal Cleaner to a microfibre cloth and wipe gently.
Wait a few minutes and check for discolouration, etching, or surface change before cleaning the full area.
