What do I do if my Spray Mop plate comes off?Updated 7 hours ago
TL;DR: If your Spray Mop plate has slipped off the pole, soak the plate on its own in warm (not boiling) water for 2 to 3 minutes, then line the pole up and press straight down until it clicks. If the plate is cracked, chipped or warped, or it will not stay on after a correct re-fit, fit a replacement Spray Mop Plate.
What do I do if my Spray Mop plate comes off?
✓ Four steps
Warm water bath. Fill a bowl or sink with warm tap water. Comfortable to touch, not boiling.
Soak the plate. Submerge just the plate for 2 to 3 minutes. The pole stays out of the water.
Click it back. Take it out, dry it off, and line the pole up with the plate's receiver. Press straight down until you feel or hear a click.
Check it is seated. Give it a gentle wiggle. If it still will not lock, repeat the soak once, then move to a replacement plate.
⚠ Avoid forcing it
Do not force the parts together when cold, as that can stress the plastic. A tiny dab of water on the joint helps it slide while seating. Never use boiling water.
Why does the plate come off the Spray Mop?
✓ It is usually the fit, not a fault
Plastic components can compress or loosen over time with knocks, storage pressure or temperature changes. The warm-water method temporarily relaxes the fit so the pole can seat fully and the locking tabs can engage properly.
When should I replace the Spray Mop Plate?
⚠ Replace if you see
Visible cracks, chips or rounded locking tabs, or a plate that keeps slipping off after a correct re-fit.
✓ A direct-swap spare
The Spray Mop Plate slots into your existing pole without tools, so the rest of the mop keeps working. There is a limit of one per order. Other parts are in spare parts.
