TL;DR: The green comb clipped to the side of the Spray Mop is a scraper for stuck-on gunk and grout-line grime. Pop it off, scrub the spot, clip it back on. It comes with the Spray Mop and the Spray Mop Starter Kit, and is not sold separately.
What's the tool on the side of my Spray Mop?
✓ A clip-on scraper
Made from ABS plastic with thermoplastic rubber (TPR), so it has a firm body and a softer working edge. You will also hear it called the side scraper or the green comb. It clips onto the mop and pops off in one movement when you need it.
✓ What it shifts
The spots a mop pad glides straight over. Dried spills, soap scum, scuffs and the grime that collects along grout lines, on sealed hard floors. It is a spot tool, not a whole-floor tool.
How do I use the scraper?
✓ Three steps
Let the cleaner do the work first. The scraper is there to finish the job, not to start it.
1 Spray the spot. Pull the trigger to mist Universal Cleaner straight onto the mark and give it a moment to soften.
2 Pop it off and scrub. Detach the scraper from the side of the mop and work the spot in short, gentle strokes. Let the edge do the work rather than leaning on it.
3 Clip back on and mop. Slide the scraper back onto the mop and pass the pad over the area to lift the loosened residue.
⚠ Surface care
Sealed hard surfaces only. Test gently in a small out-of-the-way patch before you work on a visible spot, and keep the scraper off delicate and high-gloss finishes, which can mark under abrasion. If you are not sure what finish your floor has, stick to the mop pad.
Can I buy the scraper on its own?
✓ It comes in the box
The scraper is included with the Spray Mop and with the Spray Mop Starter Kit. It is not sold separately as a spare part. If yours is missing from the box or faulty, get in touch and our team will sort it.
✓ Keeping it clean
Rinse it under warm water after each use to clear debris and residue, tap it dry, and clip it straight back onto the mop. Clipped on is also the surest way not to lose it, since it is the one part you cannot replace on its own.
