There is no honest one-line answer, because eco-friendly on its own does not mean anything specific. What we can do is set out each claim with its scope. Eight products hold GECA, an independent Australian ecolabel: Universal Cleaner, Bathroom and Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease and Oil Cleaner, Sensitive Laundry Liquid, Stain Remover, Dishwashing Liquid, Dishwashing Tabs and Loo Cleaner Tabs. Sensitive Laundry Sheets is not GECA certified. One product, Universal Cleaner, holds Allergy UK approval. Every formula is made without added fragrance and without added colourant, and without chlorine, phosphates, parabens, triclosan, formaldehyde, microplastics or heavy metals. The concentrated and tab formats mean less packaging and far less water is shipped per clean. Where we cannot substantiate something, we say so rather than reaching for a green-sounding word.

Two independent schemes appear on Koh UK packaging, and both are held product by product. GECA, Good Environmental Choice Australia, is an environmental ecolabel and is held by eight products: Universal Cleaner since April 2016, Dishwashing Tabs since March 2023, Loo Cleaner Tabs since July 2023, and Bathroom and Shower Cleaner, Kitchen Grease and Oil Cleaner, Sensitive Laundry Liquid, Stain Remover and Dishwashing Liquid since June 2026. Sensitive Laundry Sheets is not GECA certified. Allergy UK approval is held by Universal Cleaner only, and no other Koh UK product holds it. A product that has not been assessed is not certified, and we do not describe it as though it were.

Two things, and both are physical rather than promotional. First, the cleaning formulas are concentrated and sold as refills, so you keep and reuse the spray bottle and trigger instead of buying a new one every time. Second, the tab and sheet formats carry the dose without the water, so a box of Dishwashing Tabs, Loo Cleaner Tabs or Sensitive Laundry Sheets weighs and occupies a fraction of what the liquid equivalent would, and it needs no bottle, trigger or cap at all. Tools such as the Loo Blade, the brushes and the mop are built to be kept and to have parts replaced rather than thrown away whole. We have not commissioned a published lifecycle assessment, so we are not putting a percentage on any of this.

Koh formulas are made without added perfumes, essential oils, synthetic fragrances or colourants, which is why they have no smell and no colour. We avoid ingredients including chlorine, phosphates, parabens, triclosan, formaldehyde, microplastics and heavy metals. Universal Cleaner in particular is only a highly diluted inorganic ingredient, potassium hydroxide, and purified water. We do not claim the whole range is eco-certified, because Sensitive Laundry Sheets is not GECA certified, so we name the eight products that are rather than describing the range. We do not claim the range is Allergy UK approved, because only Universal Cleaner is. We do not describe the tab and sheet products as plastic-free, because the dissolvable film is polyvinyl alcohol, a synthetic polymer, even though it dissolves rather than persisting as a fragment. We do not put a bare biodegradable, compostable or planet-friendly label on anything, because those words mean nothing without saying what breaks down, under what conditions and how long it takes. And we have not commissioned a published lifecycle assessment, so we do not put a percentage or a net figure on any of it.
