The same study reported minimal sorption to sludge, meaning the small remainder passed out in effluent rather than accumulating in solids. That result describes a wastewater treatment plant with an established microbial population. It is not a claim about home composting, about garden soil, about septic systems or about seawater, and we are not making one.
